We are beyond excited to share that SPORTENG has been awarded the prestigious Sport And Play Industry Association Design Award 2024 for our groundbreaking work on Victoria's Home of Matildas project. This award celebrates our commitment to excellence in sports facility design and highlights our innovative approach to creating a world-class venue for Australia’s elite soccer players.

The Home of Matildas project is more than just a training ground; it’s a state-of-the-art facility designed with the highest performance, safety, and sustainability standards. Located in Victoria, this project represents a significant investment in the future of soccer in Australia and provides the Matildas with a dedicated space that matches their elite status.

Our design focuses on several key elements:

Cutting-Edge Playing Surfaces

We implemented advanced turf technologies to ensure optimal playing conditions year-round. The fields are designed to support peak performance and minimise injury risk, with a focus on durability and environmental impact.

Sustainable Design

Environmental sustainability was a core component of our design strategy. The facility incorporates rainwater harvesting systems, energy-efficient lighting, and eco-friendly materials, reducing its carbon footprint and supporting long-term environmental stewardship.

Player-Centric Features

The facility includes specialised areas for training and recovery, such as high-performance gyms, physiotherapy suites, and relaxation zones. These features are designed to support the holistic development of players and aid in their physical and mental well-being.

Community Engagement

We also focused on creating spaces that foster community interaction and support. The venue includes spectator areas, community outreach programs, and facilities for local soccer clubs, making it a hub for both elite and grassroots soccer development.

Winning the SAPIA Design Award, as detailed on the SAPIA website, is a testament to our team’s innovation and dedication. This recognition not only honours our project but also reinforces SPORTENG’s position as a leader in sports facility design.

We sincerely thank the SAPIA judges for this honour and our talented team and partners who made this project possible. This award inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sports infrastructure and to support the growth of soccer talent in Australia.
