We’re excited to hear the official announcement from the US that the Major League Cricket 2025 season will kick off on June 12th, with the opening games to be played at the historical Oakland Coliseum.
The Coliseum will undergo an exciting transformation, shifting from a baseball diamond to a world-class cricket field, and we at SPORTENG are thrilled to have played a part in this historic moment.

Having been involved in the initial feasibility study that identified the Coliseum as the preferred site for conversion from baseball to cricket, we then produced documentation to convert the field of play from a baseball diamond to a cricket field and worked with the league to identify contractors who could undertake the works.
Cricket has been steadily gaining traction in the United States, with a growing fanbase and an increasing number of international players joining the domestic scene. The establishment of Major League Cricket is a significant milestone, providing a professional platform for the sport to flourish. With franchises in key cities and state-of-the-art venues like the Oakland Coliseum and Grand Prairie Stadium, cricket is poised to make a lasting impact on American sports culture.
Congratulations to Major League Cricket and San Francisco Unicorns for making this project a reality. We’re looking forward to watching the season with interest in June.
